With his education background in photography from UiTM, Shah Alam Malaysia, Shamshahrin joined the STAR as a staff photographer until 1999. Later on, he became the photographer for a French newswire agency, Agence France-Presse (AFP) .
His works have been published in local and foreign newspapers and magazines such as Life magazine’s website (photo of the day), IHT, Time, Asiaweek, Far Eastern Economic Re- view, The Star-Ledger (NY), etc. Conducted and shared his knowledge with several local universities like University Technology Malaysia (UTM – SPACE), International Islamic University (IIUM), Open University (OUM) and University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF).
He was also Invited as an External Assessors for a photography module for Ministry of Human Resource (HR). The Ministry of Education has also appointed him to be the panel member of assessors for the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) while the Malaysian Creative Content Industry Guild (CCIG), named him as a panel member of Photography Accreditation. Between 2004 to 2017, Shamshahrin had worked with the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) in Kuala Lumpur, became a yearly mentor for Kinabalu Photo Festival, assisted Dr Shahidul Alam, a member of Board of Advisor for National Geographic & MAGNUM Agency for his Photojournalism Masterclass in Kuala Lumpur.
Shamshahrin’s artwork exhibitions were shown to public since 1994 at various photography exhibitions such as Photography As An Art 1994 in Kuala Lumpur, `Conjunction Points’ Asian Photography, and Film Exhibition 2005, Gwangju, Korea, `Close Encounter’ Photo Exhibition 2010, Jeju Museum of Arts, Korea, and MPPA News Photographers Exhibition, MATIC KL
Che’ Ahmad Azhar
A specialist at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia. He is also a pioneer member of the faculty, and has taught in the field of visual communication, photography and drawing for more than twenty years. Known as Che’ Mad among his students and peers, his work has been featured in the Invisible Photographer Asia (IPA), LENS Blog, The New York Times, and Angkor Photo Festival. His solo exhibitions and projections were held in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia.
He is frequently invited as a judge, guest speaker, and facilitator for international and local photography competitions and workshops.
Che’ Ahmad Azhar holds a Master of Fine Arts and Technology from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and is a Professional Member of Creative Content Industry Guild Malaysia
Agah Permadi has been working at Music and Audio Production since 1993 with clients such as Sea World Indonesia , Indomaret, Sinar Mas Insurance, Bank DKI Syariah, AC Toshiba, FIF, Bank Syariah Mandiri, Force Magic TV com, Komnas HAM, PLN, AXA life, Bridgestone, Salonpas TV com, Lippo Land, etc.
In 2005, he decided to widen his passion for photography by creating digital images for Malaysia and Indonesia clients; Banpu Coal Indonesia, Sime Darby Malaysia, Minamas Plantation Indonesia, PT Bukit Asam ( BUMN), Asuransi Astra, PT Staco Jasa Pratama, PT Mitsubishi Chemical Indonesia, Bakrie & Brothers, The Apex Consulting, Group Australia, PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta, PT Dexa Medica, Garuda Magazine, Exposure E Magazine, Suzuki Indomobil, RQS Photo Studio, Romi Perbawa Book “AU LOIM FAIN”.
Starting from 2008, he has been teaching and conducting workshops and classes in Digital Imaging for companies and photography communities such as Candid Syndrome KL Malaysia, ASAH MATA Photography Brunei, WIEF & Market place KL Malaysia, FMDC Malaysia, Astra Indonesia , FIF finance, Agah Permadi Workshop, IFOR Photography Club, Angkasa Pura Fotografi, PT Bukit Asam, FAB Production Jakarta, Jebat Legacy Photography Club Sabah Malaysia, and Kinabalu Photo Festival
